Empire Magazine publiceerde dit weekend hun '500 Greatest Movies' aller tijden. Een lijst, gebaseerd op een ambitieuze poll uitgevoerd onder hun lezers, vooraanstaande critici en mensen uit de industrie zelf.

Opvallend is dat de eerste drie films ongetwijfeld bij de populairste films ooit horen. The Godfather op kop, gevolgd door Indiana Jones en Luke Skywalker. Ik heb de lijst niet in detail bekeken, het is veel te moeilijk om er door te navigeren, maar hieronder vind je de top 50.

Ik heb wel het gevoel dat er een gebrek is aan een aantal buitenlandse (lees non US) producties, die veel betere/sterker zijn dan enkele van de films die de lijst wel gehaald hebben. De 500 populairste films aller tijden lijkt me een beter geschikte titel voor de lijst.
